Live Music Series – Wicked Olde

Wicked Olde is a Northern Virginia quartet which is eclectic to say the least. The group has one foot in American roots music and the other in modern American music. It may be best described, however, as “Americana with Attitude.”

While sound clips and other information on the group is found on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/WickedOldeMusic and website: www.wickedoldemusic.com, Wicked Olde offers a unique mix of instrumentation (harmonica, fiddle, keyboard, and guitar) and 3-4 part harmonies in covering everything from Appalachian and bluegrass to Piedmont and Chicago blues, to folk and country, to Irish and Scottish (songs, jigs, and reels), to soul and light jazz, to Sea Shanties and ditties, to the Beatles, Eagles, and CSN. Selections from their CD “Hannigan’s Mountain,” have received regular airtime on WAMU’s “Capitol Soundtrack.”
